***Lunch***
I went to El Merlin de Cabo Blanco with Fernando for lunch. When you sit, they bring you a bowl of cancha (toasted corn) and chifles (banana chips). We finished them.
I had a Leche de Pantera, which is the juice of a cebiche of Conchas Negras (black clams). It's better than its sounds), and Rice with (more) Conchas Negras and Langastinos. I ate every bite.
Fernando and I split an order of Huveros. If I understood correctly, these are fish eggs (roe) either bound together somehow, or taken en masse from a fish, breaded and fried. The tasted pretty much like anything else that gets fried. I wouldn't get them again, but it didn't stop me from eating half of it.
Fernando was out of control. He had a Tiradito (sliced raw fish in sauce -- pretty much like cebiche), Leche de Tigre (Cebiche juice with fish), Fried Calamari, and a Tacu Tacu (rice and bean patty) with a fish filet on top.
Here he is, acting like this is no big deal.
***Dinner***
For dinner, Alex picked me up and we wound up at an Italian restaurant, Il Postino.
I started with a Grilled Octopus Salad. It was pretty good, but I wish that they would have grilled the Octopus a little longer.
For my main course, I had the Veal Saltimbocca. It was a classic Italian dish, and OK, too. EIther I was still full from Lunch, or nothing can now compare to last night's dinner. It came with a Risotto in Pesto Sauce.
Alex had the Tilapia Filet with garlic and some other stuff. And... his shirt matched the tablecloths!
Later, in Casino Atlantic City, they were giving out Rocoto Rellenos. I love Rocoto Rellenos, so I went with it.
A free Rocoto Relleno... Like hitting the Jackpot! |
Later, in Casino Fortuna, I had some fruit. They would have shot me if I took a photo.
That's it. Here's me at Il Postino. My shirt kind of matched the tablecloth, too.
