I was in the Supermarket buying some stuff, and I saw that Sublime (a Peruvian family of Chocolate products) had a White Chocolate version. I hardly ever do this, but I got a small bar.
What can I say? I like White Chocolate. It was only one ounce... won't kill me.
I was headed downtown to eat an early Lunch at Puerto Norte. They open at 10. Or at least they used to. Now they open at 12.
Since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to go elsewhere. I could have gone to La Choza Nautica, but I am mad at them because their service sucks. So I decided to teach them a lesson and go to the place right next door to them, Pasion Chiclayana.
It was early; I was the only customer. I started our with a mixed Seafood/Fish Cebiche.
On the menu, it was called Cebiche Arriba Peru. This was very good. The only thing different -- that I could tell -- from a regular Cebiche was that there was hint of Rocoto (Hot Red Pepper) in the Cebiche juice. I finished it.
My second dish was Tacu Tacu with Duck.
Tacu Tacu is a Rice and Bean patty that Peruvian Chefs use as a food delivery device. I'm glad that they delivered the Duck on this one... it was delicious. I finished the Duck and about half of the Tacu Tacu. I love Duck, but that's a story for another venue.
That was it. It kept me happy until dinner, and I didn't give La Choza Nautica any of my money.
That duck and the tall glass of wine to wash it down look good. I didn't know Pasion Chiclayana was in the neighborhood. I find La Choza Nautica's location in Lima centro to be too small, noisy and always crowded. The Lince location is much nicer. No complaints about the service.
