Now that I'm eating Breakfast, I had the opportunity to rush out to the Mercado #2 en Surquillo and visit the Seafood Lady.
We have a symbiotic relationship: I give her money and shower her with adoration, and she gives me Seafood.
I was on an Octopus Hunt this morning and told her so. She hooked me up, because she's got it all there.
She cut me some pieces of Octopus and we lovingly went through all the Scallops to find the four best.
She then added some Calamar, Caricol (snail) and something else (she told me what it was, but I don't remember) to the Octopus and Scallops and put it to boil just for a minute or two in the big vat of Fish Stock that they have going all the time. While it was cooking, she gave me a bowl of the Fish Stock (Chilcano).
When it was done cooking, she cut up the Octopus and added some raw Fish and a fresh Clam, and Cebiche-fied the whole thing for me, adding Line Juice, Onion, Hot Pepper and who knows what else.
It was Pretty Damn Great. All this opulence ran me a hot $8, and I was on my way for the day. The Mercado is an awesome place, so I spent another hour just walking around and taking in the action.
