I think that the frenzy has abated.
I ate a bunch of Frozen Grapes for Breakfast and snack today.
At around 11:30, I drove over to Snappers on Commercial Blvd and 441. First I was going to Subway, but I decided to go with Caribbean Food instead.
They have a few different $5 Lunch Specials. I chose the Brown Stew Chicken. After they got the whole thing packed up, I decided that I would have liked Cabbage instead of the Salad, so I ordered it as a side dish.
It came with the Salad, Rice & Peas and Sweet Plantains. I ate the Rice and I ate the Cabbage, not the other stuff. It was excellent, and for $5 (if I had ordered it correctly) a great value.
I had some more Frozen Grapes when I got home.
Later, I was out with Lonnise and Ed and John and Rob and they decided to go to CG Burgers. I wasn't thrilled, but they have Grilled Wings, so I was going to Make Do.
When we got there, they had already shut down the Wing griller, so they offered to fry them. I turned it down, told everyone good night, and headed to Whole Foods to see what kind of trouble I could get into.
The prepared foods counter had delicious looking Grilled Vegetables, but it was $10 a pound, so that was out.
I wound up getting Conch Salad and Soup in the Fish Department.
This was a half pound of the Conch Salad. It was better than it looked, but not great.
They had five or six different 'Fish Soup' choices (the 'meat soups' were elsewhere). I chose the Cioppino.
I don't know what is supposed to be in Cioppino, but I'm not sure this was it. Whatever it was, it was very good. There were a LOT of pieces of fish in a slightly spicy, tomato-based broth. And, as a food for someone on a diet (sorry Viv, I mean eating healthy to lose unwanted weight), I think it did a good job... here's the ingredients. Click to enlarge.
And, it was delicious. A huge 32-Ounce container was $10. That's a lot, but it's also a lot better than $10 for some Vegetables. I finished it.
At around 11, I polished off a Bowl of Watermelon.
