La Preferida

Lunch today was at La Preferida in Miraflores.

We started off with (not sure what they called it), seafood broth with some calamar and octopus floating around in it. We then moved on to the shrimp cocktail. They don't use cocktail sauce in Peru, they use what we would call russian dressing. There were plenty of shrimps floating around in the glass as well as hanging off the side. Next was (they called it) Tartar de Almejas (clams tartar). I would have called it clam cebiche. Either way, it was pretty fabulous. Not as fabulous, however, as the Arroz con Mariscos (rice with seafood). The whole thing (including drinks) was $40, and more than fed two of us. They offer a 15% discount for using a mastercard... so I paid with a mastercard.
