I try not to repeat restaurants on my trips, but
La Preferida opened
early for breakfast, and along with breakfast stuff (which at this place is
sandwiches and tamales and things), they had a seafood bar. I couldn't
resist.
I walked over without eating anything on the way, and gloried in the seafood bar.

I dream about stuff like this |
The shot glasses are various mini-everythings: clams, scallops, cebiches... all in different sauces. On the shells were different versions of the cebiche-theme. There was regular, octopus, clam, scallop, mussels, all mixed with lime juice, onions, hot peppers, cilantro, etc. They were $2 a pop. I ordered an assortment, including cebiche, clams, and octopus. The rolled up orange things in the front are slices of trout, rolled up with a little cream cheese and some cucumber.
As if all that wasn't enough, They also had a rocoto relleno. That's a hot stuffed pepper, filled with a mixture of ground beef and pork, covered with a little cheese, and served with a pastel de papa (basically, a slice of a potatoes au gratin loaf. I love these... what a breakfast!
That was plenty for me. You could also go there and have a non-seafood breakfast. The meat looked pretty good, too.
Been there the best place to eat peruvian food, highly recomended.
