For lunch today, we went to Factoria 1075 in Miraflores.

This place is new, and suffers from being onbly 100 feet from El Mercado, one of my favorite places anywhere.

So we were the only customers when we got there, and there was one other table when we left.

We started with an grilled octopus appetizer. It was grilled, cut into pieces, and served with potatoes and choclo (giant corn kernels). My main dish was the Saltado de Mar y Rio, which was a stir fry combining shrimp and pache (a fish from the jungle region of Peru).

Although the service was atrocious, the people in the kitchen knew what they were doing. The food was awesome, but it is pretty much awesome everywhere, and I get treated like a king right next door, so I probably wouldn't go back.

  2. Portion sizes are an issue. But other than potatoes, there's not a lot of 'heavy' stuff.

    I found seedless grapes!!!!!
