Wednesday & Thursday Catch-Up

Wednesday, February 27

NOTE: I lost my notes, so I am doing some of this from memory and photos. There will be some inaccuracies on Fruits, but anything other than Fruit had its picture taken.

A bowl of Watermelon. Another Bowl of Watermelon.

For Lunch, I broke out a package of Hillshire Farm Tuscan Style Herb Turkey Breast and made Roll-Ups.

I like this better than the Oscar Mayer Turkey, but the Oscar Mayer was on sale, so we will be seeing a lot of that one in the next week or so.

(Maybe) another Bowl of Watermelon.

I met Lonnise and we walked in the park (3 miles) after work. I ran 3/8 of a mile, and did not feel like dying afterwards.

When I got home, I heated up the other Catfish and Vegetables that I had put aside on Monday night.

Equally delicious. I say this about a lot of dishes, but if I had to eat this every day, it would take me a while to get bored with it.

Sergio was closing at work, but we made plans to meet for a drink at Stout on Andrews Avenue. Since I had already eaten, I just watched while he inhaled an order of Chicken Wings to go with his glass of Merlot. Yes, Merlot. In an Irish bar. I had a Soda, so maybe I shouldn't talk. But he had MERLOT. He does get his picture in the Blog, so everyone's happy.
Sergio in the blue shirt; the Merlot in the glass.

Thursday, February 27

A Bowl of Watermelon.

Two Hard-Boiled Eggs.

Albertsons had Asparagus on sale. I bought some on the way to work, and nuked them at around 11:00 am, just sprinkling some seasoning on top. Larry was excited to help me out, and he suggested that we dip them in the Dijon Mustard. It was an excellent idea.

Another Bowl of Watermelon.

Around 4:00, I was hungry, so I broke open a package of the Oscar Meyer Smoked Turkey and slathered it with some more of the Mustard.

Apparently, Thursdays are made for Turkey Necks (Turkey Neck Tuesday is sooo 2013), so I picked up another batch at Andrews Meat Market on the way home from the office. I thought that I was going to bake/broil them today, but no, I took out the regular ingredients.

I used Sofrito, Salsa Casers, Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies, a bottle of Salsa, a can of Straw Mushrooms, plain old Diced Tomatoes, Onion Flakes, Fried Garlic, Garlic Paste, and some really hot Rio Salsa stuff that I had picked up in Peru. So, it turned out that I made Spicy Turkey Necks.

They were ready just in time for me to watch the Heat beat up on the Knicks. I had two portion that looked pretty much like this.

They weren't as spicy as I feared. I also had a bunch of the Turkey Neck Soup that is a happy byproduct of this dish, and I put away enough for a full me for another day.

Save A Lot had Grapes for $1.49 a pound, so I picked some of those up on the way home. I had a bunch before going to sleep, but they hadn't frozen up yet, so it wasn't a top priority.

Here's my steps for Wednesday and Thursday.
