I started with a Cebiche in Salsa de Rocoto.
Rocoto is the Hot Red Pepper that they use a lot in Peru. This dish was delicious, and a steal at just $10. The fish was fresh, and the sauce was tasty without being too hot.
My second dish was Rice and Chicken.
The guy at the next table had a plate with an assortment of food, and he was raving about this, so I figured to give it a try. He said that he was Peruvian, and this was better than his Grandmother's.
Well, Grandma probably won't be opening a Chicken & Rice restaurant any time soon. The Rice had a good flavor, but the Chicken Breast tasted like rubber. I've eaten here four or five times now, and this was the first clunker I've had. That's still a good success percentage, and I will go back.
Loretta had the Chupe de Camarones.
This is a soup with Shrimp, Rice and Vegetables. It's one of her favorites, and she said it was Very Good.
Much later, at home, I had some more Frozen Grapes.
