Snappers Seafood & Wine Bar

After not being in touch for 3 years, Rich and I wound up re-connecting a couple of months ago via Facebook. He lives up north, but was in South Florida doing some visiting. We got to meet up tonight at Snappers in Boynton Beach with a few other people.

Snappers looks pretty much like a diner, but the food is much better and the menu had some creative choices. I was very pleasantly surprised.

We started out by sharing a couple of dozen Oysters with the table. I had three.

For my Appetizer, I had Mussels. They were in some sort of Garlic/Thai broth. Delicious. I used a shell to drink the broth.

Then, it turns out, that you can get Soup or Salad with your meal. I love Soup, so I went with the Shrimp Chowder.

It was spicy and good.

My Main dish came in another bowl. You could call it soup... I certainly did.

It had some fancy, foreign-sounding name that I don't remember. There were two Scallops, Two Shrimp, Two Mussels, and Two pieces of (King??) Crab Leg, all over Noodles with a very rich broth. I ate all the food, and only a little of the broth.

I went for the company, but I would return for the food. Here's Rich and his wife, Amy, making their blog debuts.

And here's the two of us in a photo called "A Whole Lotta Rich." I think we looked just like this at his wedding, back when we were babies.
