I woke up at 4:06 to take Loretta for her new knee. Had some Strawberries on the ride over to her house.
While I was in one of the waiting rooms, I had some Turkey that I had brought with me. A little later, I finished off the rest of the Turkey with a cup of coffee.
There's a lot of Nothing To Do when your mother is getting her knee replaced. I ran out for a few minutes and wound up buying some pickles.
Yeah, I ate them.
She made it into her hospital room at around noon. I went down to the cafeteria to see what I could find. I found more coffee and some soup.
This was Chicken Gumbo Soup. It was spicy and delicious. And it cost 89 cents. Things are cheap at Coral Springs Hospital. The coffee was 52 cents. It felt like I was stealing.
I left her around 3:30. I stopped back at the cafeteria, just in case. There was still soup left, so I had two more bowls for $1.78.
Loretta is doing great. The physical therapist checked on her and was very pleased. To my untrained eye, she bounced back much quicker than when she had the first knee replaced five years ago.
Here's a shot of her at around 1:30. Pretty impressive, considering the surgery was completed at 8:30 in the morning, just five hours earlier.
