Saturday - Cruise Day 2

I'm going to let you all in on my Secret Invention. The good thing about having a blog with only nine readers is that I can share Secret Inventions and they get to stay Secret. Here it is:

When you go on a cruise, you don't have to bring an alarm clock or request a wake-up call. Just order Room Service Breakfast. It's great -- room service is free on the boat, and you can specify exactly what you want.

For today, I had a Fruit Plate and a pitcher of Decaf Coffee. And three cups of ice, so I had Iced Coffee.

Even if you want to take advantage of eating breakfast with your friends, family, or loved ones at either the buffet or the sit-down restaurant, you can still do this... just order some Juice and/or coffee. Either way, you get woken up (they call to say the food is on the way, so you have time to get dressed), but this way, the blow is softened by having some random guy bring you Breakfast in Bed.

Remember -- this is our secret. You can use it for free, but if you tell anyone else, they have to send me a dollar.

I went and did 31 minutes on the Bicycle Machine in the gym (level 8, whatever that means). Exercise! I used a calculator, and that translates to 659 extra points.

Our 'port of call' today is Great Stirrup Cay.That sounds all official and exotic, but it is just NCL's private island. They own the thing, so they get to keep you spending money with them... smart move. And, it's big, nice, and clean, and safe. We were able to just leave our stuff on our beach chairs without worrying.

They do a BBQ Lunch on the island. I had a plate with Ribs, lots of Ribs, one piece of Jerk Chicken, and some Pickles.

Then, I went and got some more Ribs. What can I say? They're Ribs.

Martha, who put THIS photo here?
Dinner tonight was in Il Adagio, the Italian restaurant.

I started with the Beef Carpaccio. This is very thinly sliced raw beef. Think Sashimi, except with Steak.

There wasn't a lot of it, but it was good. My second course was the 12" pizza.

This baby was topped with strips of beef that were spiced in some tasty, but unidentifiable way. Ed ate one slice; I had the rest.

For my main course I ordered the Veal Cutlet Marsala.

This was two (very) small Veal Cutlets, served with Gnocchi. Again, pretty good, but not all that plentiful. If I hadn't also had the Pizza, I would have left Dinner hungry.

I did not eat again today. So, in recap: Too Many (delicious) Ribs, And a dinner that was tasty, and probably just a Little Too Much, based on the Pizza content. But when you factor in the 31 minutes on the bicycle in the gym, and the three laps I walked on the Promenade Deck, I call today a win.

When I got back to the room, I was greeted by a friendly Towel Elephant.
