Lima Day 9: Just the Two Peppers, Please

Saturday, December 21

I took a walk Saturday Morning. My first stop was the little Bodega on the corner. They have cheap sandwiches. I'm cheap, and I like sandwiches... a match made in heaven!

I had a Hot Dog Omelet Sandwich, and a Chicken Salad Sandwich. The second one had more Bread than Chicken (understandable, it was only 40 cents), so I didn't eat all the bread.

Next, I walked over to the Weekend Food Court by the Mercado in Surquillo.

They have lots of things, but somehow, I wound up with (surprise!) another Rocoto Relleno.

I could eat these all day. Except for the Cebiches and Tacu Tacus and all the other stuff, too.

I was reading something that mentioned a small place near my apartment. I'm game, so for Lunch, I walked over to Al Toke Pez.

This place is tiny. It's the size of my bedroom, and has a small counter that seats six. Mostly, people get their food either to go, or to eat on the street. They are a small Cebicheria, with low prices and good food.

I asked for a Leche de Tigre (Cebiche Juice) and a whole Fish. They explained that they only did the whole Fish on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but because I was a visiting American, they would make me one today. While I had the Leche de Tigre, he worked on my Fish.

It came with Rice, Salad and Yucca. Absolutely delicious.

That was it for most of the day. I met my friend Kelly later that night. We hung out for a while, and decided that we were hungry at around midnight. We wound up at La Botica, mostly because I knew that the kitchen would be open. We both had... you guessed it... Rocoto Rellenos.

That was it for the day. Two Stuffed Peppers wrapped around a Fish. I call that a success.
