...except it is diet, not college. But I'm thinking that Monday will be a little more, er, normal.
I am still around the corner from the Mercado Surquillo. It hasn't moved. Neither have the Tamale Ladies. I bought a double-wide Tamale (filled with chancho) and two rolls from one of the ladies outside the Mercado. It was a total of three Soles. That's $1.08 to you and me.
I didn't have my camera, so I went back home, but I returned to the Mercado. Every Sunday, there's a "BioFeria" there (it is elsewhere in Miraflores on Saturdays), with Organic packaged foods, Vegetables, and all-around Cool Stuff. The makeshift food court from yesterday was there, too. It takes place every weekend.
At the BioFeria, I picked up some stuff for people back home. I was tempted a bunch of times (they give samples), but I only tried out one thing... the Organic Dark Chocolate.
And I only had three small sample chunks.
Back at the food court, I grabbed another Leche de Tigre.
I met Garry, Veronika and Yolanda for Brunch at Balthazar in San Isidro. They have a Brunch Buffet on Sundays. It is much, much more modest than the one I went to a couple of weeks ago.
For my first plate, I had a little of each item in these photos, except the Sausage in the first shot.
Garry, Yolanda and Veronika were going to town, too. Yolanda weighs no more than 100 pounds soaking wet, so her definition of "Going to Town" and mine are very different. She ate half of her one plate.
A few hours later, back in the apartment, I was a little hungry. So some ***Frozen Grapes*** got me through it.
I can't find red seedless Grapes here. But these did the trick.
Around 7:00, I was starting my evening. I was walking by Tierra Santa, so I stopped in to get a Lamb Shawarma.
They're up to $4 these days, but they're good and filling.
No filling enough, clearly. After gambling for hours, I had just a few Soles left, so I had my driver take me for a Caldo de Gallina (Chicken Noodle Soup). We were on the the other side of town from my regular place, so he took me to some place called: Caldo de Gallina. And no, I didn't get a photo, but it is on Aramburu, just off Av. Republica de Panama. I included this in case you were wandering around San Isidro at 1:00 in the morning and wanted Soup.
They serve up a Jumbo Bowl of Soup. I love Jumbo Bowls of Soup, so it was all good.
That was it. I gave my driver the rest of my money, and not surprisingly, had a hard time climbing the stairs to my apartment.
That's a lot of eating. I hope you are doing lots of walking. How is the heat in Lima?

I am walking as much as I can. Unfortunately, everywhere I walk ends at a restaurant.
DeleteNot too hot. Not at all. Kind of perfect, really.
