Playoff Saturday... with Rice

Saturday, January 11

I'm still in Tampa. Continue to not ask.

Hampton Inn offers free Breakfast. It's clean and fresh, and if you're careful, you can do OK here, diet-wise. I started with two Hard Boiled Eggs and a Bowl of Fruit.

That's Tea along with it. It was good, so I went back downstairs and got another Bowl of Fruit.

Delicious. For Lunch, I decided that I would take advantage of the area's Cuban community and went to Capdevila's on Columbus Avenue. They're Old School, classic Cuban. It's high-quality, but a slight step less fancy than La Versailles in Miami.
This may shock you, but I Ordered Too Much. They had something that I have never seen before: Platano Relleno (Stuffed Banana). The photo came out blurry; I guess I was excited.

This Banana was split down the middle and filled with Ground Beef and topped with Cheese. It was wonderful. I also ordered Arroz con Pollo (Rice with Chicken).

Also pretty wonderful. The only problem was that these two dishes each came with two sides. I ordered Chicken Soup, Arroz Moro (Rice and Beans all mixed together), more Arroz Moro, and Black Beans.

It was all absolutely wonderful, except the Soup was only so-so. I ate it all, except half the Soup and some of the Yellow Rice that came with the Chicken.

I watched the first half of the first football game at a place called Boston's. It wasn't all that great; I should have driven back to Hattricks. Anyway, I had the large order of Grilled Wings - nine Garlic and nine Cajun. Like the place, they weren't all that great.

Much later that night, I had four Bananas, and then at around midnight, I I got a container of Italian Wedding Soup from the Wawa gas station.

If you can imagine how Gas Station Soup tastes, you've got it right. That's it for the day.
