Friday, January 3
Denise, Patrick & I were all excited about our 3-night
cruise on the Carnival Imagination. Here they are boarding the ship.
We got settled in and hit the Lunch Buffet. I
knew that the best I could hope for would be Damage Control, so all I had from
the Buffet was Fish and various Vegetables. Denise got something from the Deli,
and Patrick wasn't yet fully on the "Let Uncle Rich take your picture
before you eat anything" bandwagon. He'll learn.
I chased the first plate with some more Squash
and some Fruit Salad.
This ship has a Tasting Station, so we met there
before Dinner. Tonight the selections were 'Mexican.' We each had a sample bowl
of Chicken, Avocado & Lime Tortilla Soup, and a small taste of Roast Pork
in a Green Chile Salsa.
Then on to the dining room for Dinner. My two
Appetizers were Smoked Duck Breast and Gaspacho.
Denise started off with a Shrimp Cocktail, and
Patrick had the Duck and a Fruit Salad.
For our Main Courses, I had a Chicken Breast
over Pasta and a side of Mixed Vegetables.
Denise had the Salmon and Patrick had the Tilapia.
For Dessert, I had: Nothing. Denise and Patrick
both had the Chocolate Melting Cake, and they split a Key Lime Pie.
We bought Denise a Smiley Face Lollipop.
After the show, I went up to the late Buffet and
made myself a Chicken Breast Sandwich with Mustard, Sautéed Onions and
Mushrooms. Then I went to bed, where I was greeted by a whimsical Towel
Creature.
