A New Year; A New Turkey

The best thing about Thanksgiving/Christmas is the plethora of Cheap Turkeys. I took one from Loretta's freezer over the weekend and let it defrost. Then I woke up early and set it up in the oven.

I went back to sleep, and just four and a half hours later, there it was!

I hacked off a Leg and Some Breast meat, and ate that along with the Turkey Neck.

That was enough to keep me happy until Dinner.

Denise and her boyfriend, Patrick flew in today. We're going on a 3-day cruise this weekend. We went straight to Loretta's house from the airport. We hung around her house for a while, and then headed to Lima 51 for Dinner.

For our Appetizers, we shared a Causa filled with Tuna Salad, and a Cebiche Mixto (Fish and assorted Seafood).

The three of them demolished the Causa, and I had just a little of the Cebiche. Here's Patrick, making his Blog debut, and my portion of the Cebiche.

I was still kind of full, so I stayed light on the Cebiche. And besides, I had ordered one for myself as my Main Course.

This was just Fish in a Rocoto Sauce. Rocotos are the Peppers that I get all stuffed when I am in Lima. I ate all of this.

Loretta had the Chupe de Camarones.

This is a Vegetable-based Soup, along with Rice and (she said) a lot of Shrimp. She apparently loved it. Patrick had the Pollo Saltado.

He finished his, as did Denise with her Pescado a lo Macho. Denise said, "No photos, please,." So no photos.

For Dessert, the three of them had Picarones.

I passed. Loretta was shocked to find out that something so delicious aren't really made of donut, they are made from a batter consisting of Squash and Pumpkin.
Shocked, she was.

When we got home much later, I had some Turkey Thigh.
