Wednesday - Sunfish Grill (Again)

I was going out to Dinner with Loretta later, so I kept it simple in the daytime.

A Bowl of Watermelon

Another Bowl of Watermelon.

A third Bowl of Watermelon.

Loretta and I went to The Sunfish Grill on Oakland Park Blvd. for Dinner. I had been there last week with Jim and really liked it. It was the last few days of Dine Out Lauderdale, so we decided to take advantage of the deal ($35 per person complete) and headed over.

We both started with the Sauteed Calamari.

Well, OK... we BOTH didn't start with that. Our first choice was the Calamari or Soup, and Loretta passed. So I had mine, and hers. It's pretty great.

For our Appetizers, I had the Smoked Fish Napoleon.

It comes with homemade Crackers, and is as tasty as it was pretty. The Smoked Fish was smokey, and the whole thing was pretty good.

Loretta had the Crab Charlotte.

Inside those thinly-sliced slivers of Cucumber was a layer of Crab Meat that was topped with a layer of Avocado. The Avocodo was almost Guacamole, but was mostly just really good Avocado. She ate every bite, except for the one small taste she allowed me to try.

Main Dish time rolled around. In a surprise move, I chose the Jumbo Shrimp Truffled Mac n Cheese.

This was two JUMBO grilled Shrimp over a freshly-baked crock of Mac n Cheese. I usually don't do Pasta and Cheese all that much, so I was glad that it was delicious. I would have hated to waste a time with that kind of stuff on non-great food. I finished every bite.

Loretta had the Scottish Salmon.

This was a piece of Salmon over a mix of Vegetables with some Calamari mixed in, over what was billed as Sticky Rice. We're not sure what was so Scottish about it, but she said that it was very, very good.

The Dine Out deal came with Dessert. We both chose the Symphony of Chocolate to go. I forgot all about it after I put it in my refrigerator, but Loretta emailed me this morning (Friday) and said, "Have you had the Dessert yet? It was great." She said there were all different kinds of Chocolate going on in the dish, and it all ended in a glorious Mousse. So, apparently, all the dishes there are excellent.

After I dropped Loretta off and went home, I had a Bowl of Frozen Grapes.

And now, the Chocolate is calling me.
