First, here's Ed and the Seafood Lady.
He's the one with the glasses.
On the way to Breakfast, we stopped at the Bioferia and I bought a Humida from the Humida Girl. Ed watched.
They are like Tamales, only a little sweeter.
Also on the way to Breakfast, we stopped at Surquillo Mercado #1 and I had a Rocoto Relleno (Stuffed Pepper). Ed watched again.
We finally got to Surquillo Mercado #2 for Breakfast, and we saw the Seafood Lady.
We both had a Bowl of Chilcano (Fish Stock Soup). I had a Mixed Cebiche, with Fish, Octopus, Calamari, Shrimp, Scallops, Clams, and I think there might have been a Snail or two in there. Ed had assorted Fried Seafood.
Mine was fabulous; Ed's was pretty great, too. How do I know? I ate his few leftover pieces of stuff (not the Yucca; just theSeafood).
After that, we took the Metro downtown and walked around and took in some sites. Aside for a stop at the Gelato place, we didn't eat anything else in the afternoon. We did see some Mimes and also some little kids doing absolutely beautiful Chalk Drawings on the street. They earned every bit of the tips that they collected.
Ed was on his own for Dinner; Cynthia and I went to try out Amor Amar in Barranco. Cynthia was there once before and said that it was awesome. She was right.
When we sat down, they started us with a small taste of *something* (I think is was a piece of Potato in a nice sauce) and some tasty Breads.
For our Appetizers, we shared some Grilled Octopus and not to be left off the map -- Grilled Scallops.
We split the Octopus, but I got the extra Scallop because, as I explained, I am bigger.
For our Main Courses, I had the Paiche and Cynthia ordered Arroz con Pato.
Paiche is a Fish that only lives in the Amazon area and isn't often available in Lima. I really like it. Cynthia claims to have never eaten Rice with Duck before, and she knew that I liked it, so that's what she went with. We both ate every scrap that was on our plates.
In a rare development, I ordered Dessert. Well, I had to keep Cynthia company. She had a scoop of Ice Cream, and I ordered Chocolate & Lucuma Mousse.
Lucuma is a local Fruit that they like to pair with Chocolate around here. It was small, at least. But delicious.
That was it, except for the small Strawberry Sorbet that they brought with the check.
Speaking of the check, Amor Amar wasn't cheap, but it wasn't overly expensive, either. All that food, plus a cocktail for Cynthia, ran to exactly US$100, including tip. Money well spent.
That was it for the day. Here's my steps. Again, there were a lot of them.
