Council Oak Steakhouse

I knew that I was going out tonight, so I limited my day eating to watermelon and grapes.

Lea and her husband, John were down on vacation from Massachusetts. They were going to the Chicago concert, so I made us reservations at the Council Oak for dinner.

To start: Two bread sticks, lots of Sun-Dried Tomato spread and a half-piece of foccacia bread.

I had the crab cake appetizer.

Lea and John had the Escargot. For their main dish, they both did the Filet Mignon Trio Sampler. I went overboard and ordered the 20 oz. NY Strip. We shared Creamed Spinach, Broccoli, and Mushrooms as our side dishes. Here's my plate:
I later augmented that plate with some more spinach and more mushrooms.

No dessert or coffee for any of us... we were too full. Here's John and Lea with their dishes. Lea's looked huge because she had them butterfly the steaks. Or maybe because they were huge.

The food was delicious, as always. We had a great time. And to top it off, when I left them at the concert hall, I got a hug!
