Turkey Neck Friday

Friday, July 18

When we last discussed Thursday, I was all happy that I didn't feel any ill effects from not eating any Protein all day. Well, that ship sailed. I woke up with the Mother of All Headaches.

I stumbled to the kitchen and grabbed the first can I saw: Miller's Jumbo Select Crab Meat.

It's delicious, and did the trick. I don't know it got in my closet... I was in Wal-Mart today and tried to replace the can, and it was OVER TEN DOLLARS. For one can. I can only assume that I bought it by mistake, because if you know me, then you know that ain't happening.

A Bowl of Watermelon in the morning at work.

Larry and I had to run some errands (and we had a coupon), so we went to Sweet Tomatoes for Lunch. I had my normal stuff.

All Vegetables plus some Chopped Egg. Some Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing. They did not have the Crazy Meatballs Soup ("Albondigas Locas") today, so I tried the Split Pea instead. It was horrible, so I traded it for some Black Bean Chili.

It was mostly Black Bean Broth with a little Chili flavor, so I was happy.

Larry is much easier to please... he had a plate of food and some Soup and was happy.

On the way home, I stopped and bought Turkey Necks. I decided to bake them this time.

What I did was pretty much Shake and Baked them. I put them in a two-gallon Ziploc bag. Then I poured in some Rickey's Hot Sauce, followed by Garlic Powder, Kickin' Chicken Seasoning, Onion Flakes and a lucky discovery.

Not the seasoning itself -- I have been using this for a while. What happened was that the grinder broke, so I wound up just tossing some of the lumps of Garlic, Black Pepper and Salt into the bag with everything else. It came out great and looked great going in.

Just 425 degrees and an hour later, and Shazam!

In a move that Viv will not approve of, I had all eight pieces.

That was it. Here's my steps.
