Pre-Birthday @ Sea Watch

...the Frozen Banana Extravaganza Continues...

Two Frozen Bananas.

A Bowl of Watermelon.

Two more Frozen Bananas. Another Bowl of Watermelon.

For Lunch, I nuked up all the Cabbage that was left from Monday night.

And I topped it off with two more Frozen Bananas. Kathy lectured us on Fiber on Monday... I say, "Ha!"

My birthday is at the end of April, and restaurants send out coupons as birthday gifts. One of the comes from Sea Watch, and it's a good one: $30 off dinner. So Lonnise and I take each other out for our birthdays to Sea Watch. It's a little pricey, but at thirty bucks off, it's a good deal. Today was the day. Click here to sign up for your coupon!

We started with Soup. I love Soup. I had the Lobster Bisque (bowl), and Lonnise had a cup of the Conch Chowder.

Delicious.

For our Main Courses, I ordered what I always get there: Paella, and Lonnise went hog crazy and got the Crabmeat Stuffed Lobster Tails.

As always, wonderful. In the only surprise development of the evening, Lonnise finished her food before I cleaned my plate. We passed on Dessert and Coffee.

Later, when I got home, I ate some Celery during Grey's Anatomy.

That's it for the day. Here's my steps.

  1. Rich,
I learned to eat frozen grapes thanks to you. But, how do eat frozen bananas? Do you use a knife and fork?

    1. Hi... enjoy the Grapes. I prefer Red to Green or Black.

I have just been putting the Bananas in the freezer, and peeling them with a sharp knife and simply (and messily) holding it in my hand and eating it.

Someone suggested that I pre-peel them and put them in a ziplock bag before freezing them. That makes a lot of sense, so I will probably never do that.

The Frozen Bananas almost have an Ice Cream-like taste and consistency.

    2. Thank you, Rich.
I'll try cutting it up in bite sizes and freezing it in a ziplock bag.

      Cheers,

      Javier

    4. UPDATE: I pre-peeled and then froze some Bananas yesterday. I did not cut them into pieces.

They got REAL hard, and even worse -- parts of them crusted with some Ice from (I guess) the humidity in the bag.

I think it is better to leave the skin on, let them sit five minutes when you are ready, and use a knife to peel them.
