...I could have called today's entry "Ate Too Much Friday." This has to stop.
But before we go any further, here's some Soft Shell Crabs:
More about them later.
Frozen Grapes. More Frozen Grapes.
A Bowl of Watermelon.
Gordon was picking up Lunch at Cabo Blanco on Cypress Creek Road, and asked me if I wanted anything. What the hell... it is Eat Too Much Week, after all. I ordered the Sopa de Pescado (Fish Soup).
I don't know what I was expecting, but Fish Noodle Soup wasn't it. Surprising, and good.
More Frozen Grapes.
Around 4:30, I was hungry and -- at the same time -- heard that Val had an Enchilada left over from Lunch. I hadn't had an Enchilada in years, so I cut a deal with her to buy her Lunch on Monday in return for her Enchilada today.
It had all the things that I don't usually eat, and it was delicious.
Lonnise and I blew everyone off and went out to watch the Heat play the Pacers in a quasi-crucial game. I had driven by Hott Leggz on US1 in Lighthouse Point a couple of times, and went in and asked of they were showing the game with the sound on. The manager said yes, they were. Getting a regular-season basketball game with sound is not an easy task on a Friday, so in we went.
The place was much nicer, cleaner, shiner, everything-er than we expected. And lots of TVs. And a pretty good menu.
I asked if I could get grilled Wings, and Danielle checked and told me that they could do it. Lonnise ordered the Crab Cake, and I asked for twenty Jerk Wings. Lonnise's Crab Cake came quickly, and Danielle delivered my Qings a little after that.
The game was going well, so to celebrate, I ordered a bowl of Gumbo and Lonnise and I split an order of two Soft Shell Crabs.
The Crabs were good. We got them sauteed, and decided that next time, we are going to get them fried, points be damned. The Gumbo wasn't bad, but everything else we had there was better. I wouldn't get it again.
In an interesting development, Lonnise won't eat Scallops or Calamari or Octopus, but she will pick up a whole Crab -- that looks just like a Crab -- and wolf it down. Go figure.
The Heat won. We went home happy. Here's my steps for the day.
