I took my morning pre-work walk and stopped in a roadside place for a quick bowl of Caldo de Gallina.
This wasn't the mega-plate that I enjoyed yesterday, but it was a nice Bowl of Soup. And less than three bucks.
Ed and I met for Lunch at La Lucha by Kennedy Park. Ed just loves their Pork Sandwich. That was good enough for me; I wanted to give it a try.
He was right -- the Sandwich was very good. We split a thing of Fries with our Sandwiches, and I had a Frozen Pineapple Drink.
We hopped in a cab and went halfway across Peru to a Mercado called Minka. We were taking a chance in that all they might have had going for them was a good website. Not to worry -- this was an excellent Mercado. A great mix of the the 'classic' and the 'new'. They had everything you would find in one of the local Mercados, except more of it, and it was cleaner. Hanging Chickens - yup. A Full Supermarket - you got it. A counter where you could get a 6 sol Cebiche - but of Course. Kentucky Fried Chicken - that too. It was huge, it was crowded, and we loved every minute of it.
I wound up buying a Choripan (Sausage Sandwich) from a kiosk. Ed took a lot more pictures than I did -- ask him about it.
When we got back to Miraflores, we stopped at Toque X so that Ed could get a Manicure & Pedicure. Toque X also features the GarraRufa Fish Spa, where tiny little Karp eat the dead skin off of your feet. How could we pass that by?
And it was on Sale. If you want to see what a tank of Fish eating the dead skin off of my feet looks like, watch this 18-second video. If you are reading the blog in your email, trust me, it is worth clicking through to watch this.
When I went home to rest up and get ready for Dinner, I had the leftover Pastel de Papa from last week's trip to Panchita.
While I was getting ready, I had six Frozen Mini-Bananas. They were tiny. And Frozen.
