I woke up really early, in terrible pain and feeling like I was hung over. I laid in bed for a while, moaning. That didn't help, so I broke out some Alka-Seltzer. The Alka-Seltzer was five years old and turned the water brown. So I moaned some more. I didn't know if was all the food, the big exciting day with the Kids' Christmas party, or my general lack of sleep, but I was a wreck.
Finally, after three does of Ibuprofen, I was able to get dressed and I went for a walk. As happens on all my walks, I pass restaurants. Peruvian Restaurants. Full of Peruvian Food.
When I made it all the way to Surco, at Ovalo Higuereta, I discovered a place called La Red Del Pescador (The Fisherman's Net).
It looked good, and well, a guy's gotta eat. I ordered some of my regular stuff.
You're looking at a Fish Cebiche, a Crab Causa and a Parihuela. The Cebiche was wonderful, but a little spicy (I was the only non-Peruvian in the place, so they go a little wild with the hot), the Causa was good, but not as good as the one I had on Sunday morning, and the Parihuela was just OK. maybe I'm getting a little spoiled, because all of this was better than anything I could find back home, and the whole thing with a soda only ran $19.
Later, back home, I had some Frozen Grapes.
I was good until much later. I did some shopping at a Christmas Art Fair in Barranco, and on the way back, I passed a place called Welkin Pollo y Parrillidas.
I wasn't feeling like Chicken, but they had a "The Chef Recommends" board that listed a Lomo Saltado. I hadn't had one of those this trip, and the place was pretty full (a good sign), so I went on in, and ordered away.
It was pretty good, and only $4. I waddled home happy. Still tired, still hurting, but I figured that I would survive.
I had some more Frozen Grapes before bed. Here's my steps.
