LIMA DAY 8: Just your Average Day. In Lima. And I Ride the Bus

Wednesday, December 19, 2019

I was up and unoccupied, so I went to La Mora for my standard Breakfast.

This is fabulous for ten bucks. Scrambled Eggs, Salmon, Latte, freshly-blended Juice and a basket of nice Breads. The only thing here was... I think that the Barista might have been hitting the Egg Nog a little hard last night.

The other day, the Coffee featured a beautiful Swan. Today: well, you tell me.

I met Bertha at Lunchtime. She wasn't feeling at the top of her game, so we stayed close to her home.

We wound up in a random, nondescript Cevicheria a block or two from her house, Tentamar. So small, no website, no Facebook page. Just Ceviche.

I ordered the Trio Marino - a combination of Ceviche, Fried Fish Chunks and Rice with Seafood.

Very good, and all for six dollars.

It's a straight shot back to my neighborhood from where Bertha lives, so I took the bus.

For Dinner, I went to Panchita. I say that "I could eat here every day" about a lot of places, but I really could do it at Panchita.

I started with an Anticuchos de Corazon. Beef Hearts on a Stick.

If you are going to eat Beef Hearts on a Stick, this is one of the better places to do it.

Next up, I asked Carlos for a suggestion. In his opinion, I needed to order the Fried Chicken Chunks. I listened.

These didn't photograph well.

I was expecting some sort of Chicken Nuggets, but no, these were actual chunks of Chicken (with bones), fried and then topped with a sort-of sweet (but not really) Sauce. I know I'm not describing them well, but They were pretty good, and I would order them again.

Last, I had a Bowl of Sopa Criolla.

This Soup has A Fried Egg, Thin Noodles, Ground Beef and some sort of Broth that I can never quite describe. It's really good everywhere, so I was happy. And, I like Soup.

I was full, but there's always room for Queso Helado.

I just love this Ice Cream-like Dessert, originally from the Arequipa Region. Good thing theres alway room, because I had no room.

That's it for the day. I broke no new ground, but everything was a treat. Juat a run-of-the mill day in Lima.
