LIMA DAY 2: Get a Plan, and Stick to It

Tuesday, December 12, 2017

Dessert is the most important, and prettiest, Meal of the day.
The plan for today was: Take it Easy. I pretty much succeeded.

For Breakfast, I went to the supermarket and bought a Tamale and a roll.

At Lunchtime, I walked over to Punto Azul, a Cevicheria not far from my apartment. I was Taking it Easy, so I only ordered one dish: Ceviche Mixto Punto Azul.
This is a Ceviche with Fish, Shrimp, Calamar and other Seafood, in a sauce that -- aside from the Lime -- was flavored with a Rocoto (Red Pepper). This is an excellent example of a Ceviche. Punto Azul is my go-to mid-level Cevicheria.

That was it until Dinner. I met my friend Bertha (a different Bertha than yesterday) and we went to Popular Restaurant in the LarcoMar Mall.

Popular has very good food. They charge a lot for it, partly because of the location, and partly because it is dead set in the heart of Gringolandia. They save some money by not giving you all that much to eat, but hey... I am Taking it Easy today.

When you sit, they deliver a paper bag with some Rolls, along with some butter.
It's a cute touch.

We kept it simple. Bertha ordered Aji de Gallina, and I had a Tuna Ceviche.

Bertha really, really liked her dish. She says that Aji de Gallina is one of her favorites (it is a Peruvian standard. I am guessing she has had it 3683900u6076954 times in her life), and she raved about this one. Aji de Gallina is shredded chicken with Rice in a slightly spicy Sauce. My Tuna was good. If there was more of it, I could have been even more certain of that.

We decided to walk a little and stopped at a random shop for Coffee and Dessert. We each had a Cappucino, and we split a piece of Chocolate Cake.
That was it for the day. Bertha went home, and I made a donation at a local casino.
