The problem -- if you can call it that -- is that the food here is really good. And they may run out of it at any time, due to its popularity. So I try to get mine as soon as possible.
For Breakfast, I went to Cevicheria Bam Bam y Sus Conchas Negras. This guy stated out with a cart on the street, then they put him on Peru TV's Peru Top Cebiche Chef (they call the show Ceviche con Sentimiento) and he became famous. So he could afford to open a restaurant right in front of where his cart used to be.
Anyway, I used to go to his cart, so now I made my first visit to his restaurant.
They were really busy. The food is good and cheap. While I waited for my order, I ate some Potato and Sweet Potato Chips.
Then my Main Dish came. It was a combination of Cebiche and Fried Fish Chunks.
Absolutely awesome. And with a small pitcher of Chicha Morada (Purple Corn Juice), the whole thing was eight dollars.
Later, for Lunch, I walked over to a restaurant called Las Conchitas Negras. Since this was the second place in four hours that was named after Conchas Negras, I started with an order of Cebiche de Conchas Negras.
I followed that up with my first Soup of the trip - Parihuela.
This is my favorite Soup. It has mixed Seafood (you can't see it because of all the Broth), and what seemed like the Filets of a whole school of Fish in there. I only finished half of it.
I was meeting my friend Jenny for Dinner. She's a model, and won a contest to be a Playmate in Playboy Latina, and she is flying to Miami for the photo shoot tomorrow. Since I couldn't hang with a Playmate back home, we were sure to meet up before she left. We met at El Bolivariano, pretty close to her house.
I started with a ROcoto Relleno (Stuffed Pepper). I love these things.
Jenny had a Fish Filet with a Shrimp Sauce.
She ate about half of it -- I was very impressed. If I were getting naked for Playboy, I wouldn't eat anything for A YEAR, much less a couple of days before the shoot.
For my Main Course, I went with the most classic of Classic Peruvian Dishes: Lomo Saltado.
They do a good job at El Bolivariano. I ate all of the Beef Stir-Fry, and about half of the Rice and Fries.
There's a lot I can learn from Jenny. She grabbed my camera, told me to move eight inches to the left, reached out, and took an excellent team selfie on the first try.
After Dinner, she headed home to finish packing for her trip, and I donated money to various Casinos.
Before going to sleep, I had some Aguaymanto, which is a Peruvian Fruit that either is supposed to be good for you, or just good. They're like Grapes, only with a little more work involved. I don't think that they will freeze well.
Here's my steps for the day.
