Thursday, May 7 Part 2
I made some friends on the airplane. You know me -- I'm nothing if not a friendly, outgoing guy who is always looking to chat with total strangers.
Well, anyway, it happened this time. Dave and Austin (sitting behind me, but traveling separately) got some restaurant and casino recommendations from me. Austin went his merry way, and Dave says he's going to call me during the week. We'll see.
The plane is on time, there's no line at Immigration and my bag is the third one out. And there's no traffic, so I'm all set in my apartment and hitting the street at around 11:00 pm.
I head to Punto Azul. Apparently, I'm the only person in Peru that knows that they are open for Dinner, and my business is -- again, apparently -- enough to keep them open year-round.
So I walk in, sit down, and who wanders in but Austin from the airplane, taking me up on my recommendation. He joins me.
It's his first time in Peru, and his first attempt at Peruvian food, so I hat him with the old one-two punch: Scallops Parmesean and Cebiche. He had the 'classic' Cebiche with just Lime Juice, spices and Mixed Seafood, and I had the same, except I had them use a Red Pepper Sauce.
So he not only loved the food (duh!) but along with his first Cebiche, he got to take his first Blog Photo. Some guys have all the luck!
After Dinner, we wandered over to Barbilonia Bar and caught the end of my friend Juani and his band, ADN's set.
Then, home to bed. Here's my steps.
