Here's a picture of The Great Wheel of Gelato. Pay no attention; I'm just trying something for the Blog. We will discuss the Gelato later.
Ed and I worked in his hotel in the morning, so I stopped at the supermarket and picked up the makings of Pork Sandwiches.
I had two Sandwiches.
We broke for Lunch at around 1:00 and went to El Rocoto, which is a restaurant featuring food from Arequipa, in the southern part of the country.
Ed and I both started with Rocoto Rellenos (Stuffed Peppers).
Rocoto Relleno is a southern Peruvian specialty, and they did a good job of it here.
For our Main course, I had the Carapulcra (a Stew made of Dried Potatoes and Pork -- much better than it sounds), and Ed had Shrimps in Garlic Sauce. Mine was very good, and Ed's was excellent... they had better be really good; this is an expensive restaurant.
We didn't have plans to meet up until much later, so around 7 pm, I wandered over to the Supermarket to get a bite. They have a section where they will make stuff for you right away, so I had a Ceviche and a Turkey Sandwich.
The whole thing came to seven dollars, and for the price and ease of purchasing, it can't be beat. There was, however, room left for some Gelato.
I had Chocolate and Coconut.
Ed and I met up with Dely at the casino later that night. We played for a while, then decided that we were hungry. We were also lazy, so we decided to eat in the restaurant in the casino.
I had Tiradito, which is thin slices of Raw Fish in three different Sauces, Dely had a Cebiche, and Ed had --- get ready: a Hamburger.
That was it for the day. We lost a little at the casino, but didn't really get hurt. Dely won enough money to pay for her taxi home.
